Over 400 migrants from Eritrea, Ethiopia and war-torn Somalia drowned in the Mediterranean trying to get to Italy form Egypt when the boat they were travelling capsized. News reports from Somalia say only 29 people were rescued from the waves while the Somali ambassador to Egypt confirmed the death toll to the BBC.
Photographs of a handwritten list of victims names have been uploaded on to social media by several Somali speaking users.
